Middlesex University's origins go back to 1878, when St Katherine’s College first opened its doors. Seven additional colleges and training institutions across North London followed, coming together to form Middlesex Polytechnic in 1973. In 1992, Middlesex was awarded the title of university by Royal Assent. At Middlesex, we celebrate diversity, with a global outlook that informs everything we do. In 2005, the university opened its first overseas campus in Dubai, followed by two more campuses located in Malta and Mauritius.

Our London campus is located in the leafy north London area of Hendon, just six stops from Camden Town, one of the city’s most popular spots. From central London (Leicester Square), our Hendon Campus is 24 minutes by underground train, 33 minutes by car and just a 46 minute cycle ride away. You’ll find a wide variety of shops, beautiful parks and some of north-west London’s best food and entertainment, only a few minutes from our Hendon campus.
Standard undergraduate offers range from 260 to 320 UCAS points.
Middlesex recognises a wide range of UK and overseas qualifications. We normally calculate UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 2 but a maximum of 3 A levels or equivalents such as BTEC qualifications. Mature students with relevant work experience will be considered for entry to undergraduate programmes. Students that have achieved a Foundation Degree, CertHE, DipHE, HNC, HND or a number of modules of an undergraduate degree courses at another university may be able to enter the second or third year of an undergraduate course.

Over 280 undergraduate and 170 postgraduate courses are available and are continually evolving to meet the requirements of students, employers and industry needs. They combine theoretical studies with practical real-world experience, to achieve academic excellence. Courses are specifically designed to be relevant to future careers, and are taught by industry focussed academics. Many of our courses are accredited by professional bodies such as the Law Society, Chartered Institute of Marketing, British Psychological Institute, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Training and Development Agency (for teachers) and the Institute of Design Engineers. Work placements or internships are available, with some programmes offering sandwich courses which contain a work placement year in addition to the usual three years of study. Students taking up to a yearlong placement don’t pay any tuition for that year. Mid-year intake in January is available for some programmes. Work Based Learning and Professional Practice programmes are also available as well student exchange programmes such as Erasmus+. 84% of our students said that their courses enabled them to present themselves more confidently and tackle unfamiliar problems (NSS 2014).
